"Cake & Cash Curatorial Collective is a feminist research, exchange and exhibition project. CCCC operates during the winter semester 2020/21 and summer semester 2021, hosting a research laboratory, lectures, workshops and exhibitions in the HFBK Gallery, which focus on feminist and intersectional perspectives. The program is divided into two phases, starting with the transformation of the gallery space into CCCC's research laboratory and curation office in the winter semester. This includes the collective preparation process, content based work, exchange and planning for the events which will take place in the summer semester 2021. Through various forms of publications, this preparatory process will be made accessible to all, thus also revealing the often lengthy research work that underlies artistic and curatorial work. CCCC wants to offer women, lesbians, inter, nonbinary and trans* people an open, cis-men free space, which can be shaped according to our own rules and needs. This new space can be a forum for our work and working methods, as well as a platform where necessary criticism of the existing conditions can be developed and discussed. CCCC wants to criticize the institution, as well as recognize, name and confront social disproportions. CCCC wants to start discussions. CCCC does not only want a piece of the cake, but the whole bakery. To be continued in SoSe 2021 with public workshops, exhibitions, discussions and lectures. Possible topics: Collective work, Feminist perspectives on the art market, motherhood and art, care work, curation and feminism, critical masculinity in the art world, intersectionality and others."
